Call for Volunteers


Are you committed to an inclusive, accessible, community driven approach to housing in Hamilton?  Would you like to have a positive impact on the economic and existential security of your fellow Hamiltonians?  HCLT wants you!

Our efforts are focused entirely on the diverse, robust communities of Hamilton, Ontario.  As such, we find ourselves happily seeking the involvement of Hamilton residents at large.  If you are someone with experience or an avid interest the areas listed below, we would love to hear from you!

  • Local advocacy
  • Hamilton City Council
  • Affordable housing initiatives
  • Government grant writing
  • Communications, social media and outreach
  • Volunteer and event coordination
  • Non-profit sector
  • Bylaws & governance

Any working knowledge, insight or experience in the above fields is indispensable to the HCLT as we grow, organize and progress toward a more affordable, accessible and equitable Hamilton.  Short of experience, genuine passion for inclusive, sustainable and affordable housing in our city will more than suffice and will certainly be returned with gusto.

The HCLT is a non-profit corporation that owns land in the name of citizens and leases it back to social-purpose organizations and individuals in order to help meet needs that are prioritized by the community.



Donations are accepted through our charitable partner the Social Planning and Research Centre (SPRC).
